The Womier SK71 Pro might just be one of the best mechanical keyboards I’ve tested under $100. I’ve had it on my desk for the past couple of weeks, and it’s proven to be a solid performer: responsive, reliable, and surprisingly premium for the price
Womier’s managed to pack a lot of value into this board. It looks and feels far more expensive than it actually is, which makes it a pretty compelling option if you’re on a budget. Before we dive in I should say the Womier did send me this keyboard for testing, but they’ve had zero input on this review.
Specs
The SK71 Pro features 79 keys in a compact 75% layout, making it a great fit for everything from minimalist desk setups to mobile workstations. It’s also super versatile, with full compatibility across Mac, Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android.
You’ve got three options when it comes to connectivity: Bluetooth, 2.4GHz wireless, or good old USB-C for the most responsive experience. When ordering from Womier’s website, you’ll get a choice of colour options. I went with the black model, which comes with crisp white and blue accents, and I’ve got to say, it looks fantastic.
This keyboard also has a huge 8,000 milliampere battery size, so battery life is going to be about as good as it gets.
Inside The Box
Inside the box, you get the keyboard itself, a user manual and quick-start guide, a dual-purpose keycap and switch puller, a USB-C to USB-A cable, and three spare stock switches. One thing to note, there aren’t any extra keycaps for Mac layouts, which is a bit of a downside for Apple users like me.
Design & Build
Design-wise, this is a one clean-looking keyboard. I really like the two-tone colourway, and the slightly rounded corners add a nice touch. Flip it over and you’ll see the minimalist aesthetic continue with the same two-tone theme on the underside. There is some Womier branding in a couple of places on the keyboard, but it’s very subtle, exactly as it should be.
Build quality is excellent for the price. The top and bottom panels are made from aluminium, while the middle section is plastic. It feels solid overall, with a satisfying weight of around 1.3 kilos. One other cool design feature is the removable badge panel in the top right corner. It houses the on/off switch and neatly stores the wireless dongle.
Keycaps & Switches
The SK71 Pro comes fitted with Cherry profile keycaps made from double-shot PBT plastic. That’s a great combination for durability and feel, they’re resistant to shine over time, and the legends are crisp and sharp.
One interesting detail is that the switch type varies slightly depending on which colourway you choose. My black model came with Womier’s own POM Panda linear switches. These have an actuation force of around 55g, which strikes a nice balance, light enough for fast-paced gaming, but still weighty enough to feel good for everyday typing.
Typing on the SK71 Pro is a satisfying experience right out of the box. The keystrokes feel smooth and consistent, with minimal wobble and a pleasing thocky sound that adds a bit of character without being too loud.
Final Thoughts
To sum things up, the SK71 Pro delivers a premium experience without the premium price tag. It combines a clean, minimalist design with high-quality keycaps and smooth, responsive switches. Battery life is also seriously impressive, easily lasting through weeks of use without needing a top-up.
The mechanical keyboard market is more competitive than ever, but this easily stands out as one of the best options under 100 dollars. Between the build quality, versatility, and overall performance, the value for money is outstanding. If you’re after a stylish, reliable keyboard that won’t break the bank, the Womier SK71 Pro is an easy recommendation.
