Raico Desk Shelf System Review

If you’re looking to upgrade your setup, adding a desk shelf is one of the best decisions you can make. It’s not just about aesthetics—it’s a functional improvement that can transform your workspace.

First and foremost, a desk shelf provides valuable additional storage for all your essential tech, office accessories, and even decorative items. Beyond that, it raises your monitor to a more ergonomic height, which can work wonders for your posture. By elevating your screen, you’ll naturally reduce strain on your neck and back, potentially avoiding discomfort or long-term issues.

I’ve been using this desk shelf system from Raico for a couple of months now, and it’s made a massive difference to my workspace. Not only is my desk more organised, but it’s also a more enjoyable and productive place to work.

When you order the Raico shelf, you can choose from three colours: white, black, or natural walnut. I personally went for the matte black option because it provides a striking contrast with my walnut desk. To enhance the setup further, I added two other accessories from Raico: the aluminium drawer and the tablet holder, both of which complement the main shelf beautifully.

In terms of pricing the shelf costs £200, the drawer £85, and the tablet holder another £20. So while it’s not the cheapest option out there, the quality and functionality have made it worth the investment. The shelf is super simple to assemble. There’s a metal rail on the underside of the shelf, which is where you securely attach the tablet holder. The whole system feels incredibly solid once it’s put together.

Speaking of build quality, the materials used are excellent. The wood has a premium finish that feels smooth and durable, and the entire setup is designed to last for years. According to Raico, the shelf can support up to 100kg of weight. While I haven’t tested that limit myself, I can confidently say it will easily handle any monitor you want to use.

In terms of dimensions, this is the full-width model, measuring 116 cm (or 45 inches) wide, 23 cm (9 inches) deep, and 11 cm (4.5 inches) tall. With this size, you could absolutely fit two 27” monitors on the shelf.

However, as you can see, I’m only using a single Apple Studio Display. This gives me extra shelf space on either side, which I use to store my M4 Mac Mini and iPhone 14 Pro. Underneath the shelf, I’ve got some books and a minimalist silver box for additional accessory storage.

For those curious about the drawer, it’s made from industrial-grade aluminium and has a cork-lined interior. It’s perfect for keeping smaller items like pens, AirPods, and SSDs neatly stored and within easy reach.

The tablet holder is another neat feature. By integrating my iPad Pro into my desk setup, it’s massively improved my workflow and productivity. Whether I’m checking emails, keeping an eye on notifications, or managing social media. It keeps distractions off my main screen while still being highly accessible.

So to conclude, I can wholeheartedly recommend the Raico desk shelf system. The design is sleek and minimal, the materials are top-notch, and the overall build feels like a premium product that will stand the test of time.

On a practical level, my back has been grateful for the more ergonomic monitor height, and the additional storage has helped keep my workspace organised and clutter-free.  Yes, it’s a bit of an investment, but in my opinion, you truly get what you pay for here—a stylish, functional upgrade that elevates your desk setup in every sense of the word.
